Sorry for the long hiatus! Some serious things were happening in real life, some good, some bad, so I had to put the blog and related social media on pause for a while. I do miss blogging, so many new ideas and recipes have popped up in my little brain and I can’t wait to cook, shoot and share with all of you.
It’s the fasting month again (and I believe it’s sort of the first year anniversary of this blog then? Oh gosh! Time flies!) and I don’t know about you, but at the end of the fasting day I seriously crave a big dose of goodness in the form of: smoothies! I just want to get as much of my five a day as possible within the two meals I’m allowed to eat in a day, and smoothies are the easiest and tastiest ways to get them, pronto!
I’m addicted to this combo right now: Passionfruit, Banana and Date. Dates are a great natural sweetener, and are packed with potassium to get your energy going, and so are bananas. Bananas also makes smoothies so creamy, you don’t need yoghurt for them at all! I always keep a large bag of chopped, ripe bananas in the freezer, for an instant smoothie base plus it keeps the drink cold without watering it down. Passionfruit is so deliciously tangy and full of vitamin C, which is important to keep the immune system running well. I love passionfruit anything, it’s seriously one of the best fruits after berries.
- 1 passionfruit
- 1 banana, frozen
- 4 dates, pitted and soaked in water for a couple of hours
- 1 cup plant based milk
- Cut the passionfruit in half and remove the pulp. Add all the ingredients into a blender, and blend until smooth.
Enjoy! xx, Bee
