Treat yourself to a really fantastic two-in-one natural exfoliator and face mask this weekend! It’s so easy, smells so yummy and really leaves your skin soft and bright. This “recipe” today uses just three ingredients: papaya, oats and coconut oil. It’s really truly wonderful! You might have a hard time trying not to eat it.
Papaya is full of vitamin C which is really great for revitalising your skin. Oats is a really great natural exfoliator, absorbs excess oil and fights dryness. Then coconut oil provides some serious moisture as well as fights acne with it’s anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
This recipe makes enough to use twice: once over as an exfoliator and then after rinsing your face, paint another layer to leave on for about 20 to 30 minutes as a face mask. If you leave it in the fridge for a while, it gets a little more solid but it’s perfectly find to put on unchilled. Just keep a towel around your shoulders to protect your clothes.
Papaya, oats and coconut oil face mask
1/3 cup papaya
1 tablespoon rolled oats
1/2 teaspoon coconut oil
I blitz everything in with my handheld blender, since it’s a small amount, but you could mash it together with a fork, just process your oats slightly to get smaller pieces.
Use as an exfoliator, rinse, then leave it on for 20 minutes to half an hour and rinse again. Your skin will feel so hydrated plus you’ll smell so good!
